Cheesy BLT

+ 1 1/2 c. roasted garlic, pureed
+ 12 slices sourdough bread + 24 slices jalapeño jack cheese + 24 slices vine-ripened tomatoes + 24 fresh basil leaves + 24 slices bacon, cooked crisp What to do:
1. Preheat the oven to 400ºF.
2. Spread the roasted garlic puree on sourdough bread and top each slice with 2 slices of cheese. Place on a baking sheet and bake until the cheese is melted and the bread is toasted, about 5 min. 3. Remove from the oven. Layer 6 of the bread slices with equal parts of the remaining ingredients as follows: 2 slices of tomato, 2 basil leaves, 4 slices bacon, 2 additional basil leaves, 2 remaining tomato slices, and the remaining 6 slices of cheese-topped bread. 4. Cut on the diagonal and serve. |
